I am Rikus van Veldhuisen, I am a enthousiast
succulentlover. As you will understand by now I have specialized
in growing Euphorbias.
I started growing Cacti around 1980 on my bedroom windowsill.
Over the years and moving over two times of selfmade glasshouses
the Euphorbias have now taken over most of the space of my 50
square meter glasshouse.I however also grow quite a number
of little Mexican cacti.
Throughout the years I have written several articles on Euphorbias
for the Dutch Journal "Succulenta".
I have been to
South Africa three times, where I was able to find many Euphorbias
in their natural habitat. I took many pictures and did meet
several other enthousiasts, which inspired me to write more
articles and even to intensify my hobby.
Some years ago I decided that it would be a good idea to create
a website. Finally this autumn I found a volunteer: Ellen van
Veldhuisen, my wife. She didn't know anything about making
a web-site, but she dug in deep and here you are looking at
the result.
